Direction finding & pilot location

Protocol decoding
Real-time protocol decoding reveals drone model, serial number, altitude, speed, and flight path. We also monitor EU Remote ID broadcasts in compliance with European drone regulation (EU 2019/947).

Our equipment exclusively receives existing signals, just like a radio. The same legal basis as TSCM operations. No transmission equipment, no interference.
Telecommunications Act
Fully compliant with the Dutch Telecommunications Act: no jamming, no interference, no manipulation of drone control systems.
EU Remote ID
Reading EU Remote ID broadcasts is explicitly legal under EU Regulation 2019/947. Remote ID is designed to be publicly readable, and that is exactly what we do.
Evidence for legal proceedings
We detect and document. Intervention is for law enforcement. Our evidence meets the standards for legal proceedings. Unauthorised drone recording of persons in private settings is a criminal offence (art. 139f Dutch Criminal Code).

FAQ
Is drone detection legal?
Yes. All our detection methods are passive. We receive existing signals and do not transmit. This is comparable to listening to a radio broadcast and is fully legal under Dutch and European law. Reading EU Remote ID is explicitly permitted.
Can you take down a drone?
No, and we deliberately do not. Downing or jamming drones in the Netherlands is reserved for government authorities. We detect, identify, and document, then involve law enforcement when necessary. This is the legally correct approach.
What drones do you detect?
All major consumer drones (DJI, Autel, Parrot, Skydio, and others) plus most commercial drones operating in the 200 MHz to 6 GHz spectrum. This covers virtually the entire current drone landscape. Custom-built drones are also detected via their RF signature.
How quickly can you deploy?
Depending on location: within 2 hours in the Randstad (Amsterdam metropolitan area), same day elsewhere in the Netherlands. For planned events, we recommend at least 48 hours preparation time. International deployment is coordinated individually.
What happens when a drone is detected?
Your security team is immediately informed with drone type, position, heading, and estimated pilot location. We advise on appropriate measures. All data is logged for the forensic report.
Do you operate outside the Netherlands?
Yes. We are deployable across Europe. Our equipment is portable and our operators are experienced in international deployment. We also advise on local regulations at the deployment location.
How does this relate to TSCM?
Drone detection is a logical extension of TSCM (Technical Surveillance Countermeasures). Where TSCM focuses on hidden cameras, microphones, and eavesdropping devices inside a space, drone detection addresses surveillance from the airspace. We offer both services, including combined packages.
